Význam hodnot: Epocha - Datum (rok, měsíc, den), pro něž platí uvedené údaje. λ - Zeměpisná délka subsatelitního bodu ve stupních (kladná je východní délka, záporná je západní délka). Δλ - Denní změna polohy vzhledem k zemskému povrchu (změna zeměpisné délky subsatelitního bodu) ve stupních za den (kladná východním směrem, záporná západním směrem). i - Sklon dráhy k rovníku ve stupních.

Popis objektu

Stacionární telekomunikační družice. Postavila ji firma Hughes Space and Communications Co. (HSC, nyní Boeing Satellite Systems), Seal Beach, CA (USA) v závodech v El Segundo, CA (USA), Provozovatelem je konsorcium Japan Satellite Systems, Inc. (JSAT) {=Kabushiki-gaisha Nihon Sateraito Sisutemuzu}, Tokyo (Japonsko).

Rotací stabilizovaná stacionární telekomunikační družice typu Hughes HS-393 nese 32 převáděčů pracujících v pásmu Ku (12/14 GHz) každý s kapacitou přenosu 2,5 Mbit/s nebo jednoho televizního signálu nebo 250 telefonních hovorů.

Plánovaný bod zavěšení je nad 147° v.d. Předpokládaná aktivní životnost je 10 let.

První družice této řady. Další družicí je JCSat-2 (1990-001B).
