Popis objektu

Stacionární telekomunikační družice. Vyrobilo ji NPO prikladnoj mechaniki im. akad. M. F. Rešetnjova <=НПО прикладной механики им. акад. М. Ф. Решетнёва> (nyní OAO "Informacionnyje sputnikovyje sistemy"), Krasnojarsk-26 (nyní Železnogorsk), Krasnojarskij kraj, RSFSR (SSSR). Provozovatelem je Ministerstvo svjazi (MS) SSSR <=Министерство связи>, Moskva (SSSR).

Tříose stabilizovaná družice typu Raduga <=Радуга> alias Gran' <=ГранЬ> (typové označení 11F638 <=11Ф638>, výr. č. 18L) má tvar válce o průměru max. 2.5 m a délce 5.5 m. Dvojice otočných dvojitých panelů slunečních baterií o rozpětí přibližně 9.5 m poskytuje příkon maximálně 4 kW. Pro civilní systém Orbita-2 <=Орбита-2>, zajišťující vnitrostátní telefonní, dálnopisné a telegrafní spojení a zejména distribuci televizního signálu centrální televize na území SSSR, slouží 6 převaděčů, pracujících v pásmu C (4/6 GHz, šířka pásma 34 MHz, EIRP 26 dBW, výkon permaktronových zesilovačů po 15 W), pro vojenské účely 1 převaděč v pásmu X (7/8 GHz), pro potřeby státní správy 1 převaděč systému Luč-P <=Луч-П> v pásmu Ku (11/14 GHz), pro mobilní komunikaci 1 převaděč systému Volna <=Волна> v pásmu L (1.5/1.6 GHz). Nese kapalinový motor 11D78 <=11Д78> pro korekce dráhy, systém trysek a silových setrvačníků pro orientaci a stabilizaci.

Plánovaný bod zavěšení je nad Předpokládaná aktivní životnost jsou 2 roky.

Předchozí družicí této řady je Raduga 7 (1980-081A), další je Raduga 9 (1981-069A).
