Do you dream of your own place in our library? The kind of place you can have all to yourself where you can leave the things you would otherwise have to carry around with you all the time? Then lease one of our eight individual studies.
You can find information on the provision of this service, which is designed exclusively for our registered users, in the Library Regulations. A fee is charged for the lease of an individual study and a reservation must be made.
We offer
- a lockable space with a single study position designed for short-term lease
- the use of the study for the duration of library opening hours
- a lease for one, five or twenty opening days
- the cancellation of your reservation up until 9.00 a.m. on the day you have chosen as the beginning of your period of lease
We demand
- observation of the Library Regulations
- valid membership with a reader’s pass
- the settlement of all liabilities in respect of the LCAS before you take over a study
- observation of the stipulated time for the beginning and end of lease
The reservation of lease
You may reserve a lease exclusively using the reservation system on your user account. The reservation system is opened for a given date 14 days in advance and closes at 8.30 a.m. A one-day reservation can be made at the loan counter during the day during library opening hours.
The cancellation of a reservation
You can cancel a reservation up until 9 a.m. on the day you have selected as the beginning of the period of lease, again exclusively using the reservation system on your user account. No charge is made for the cancellation of a reservation; if you have already paid the lease fee, it will be returned to you and the individual study made available for further reservation.
An individual study is ready for you to take over and we consider your reservation binding when the library opens on the day you have selected as the beginning of the lease period.
The lease of a study
Should you fail to observe the stipulated deadline for the payment of the lease fee or the deadline for the take-over of an individual study, we will make the premises available to other interested parties and you will be charged a cancellation fee to the amount of 100 % of the lease fee for the individual study.
Payment of the fee
Pay the fee by 5.30 p.m. at the latest on the day you have selected as the beginning of the lease period either on-line by payment card over your user account or by payment card or in cash at the loan counter.
The beginning of lease
Report to the loan counter by 5.30 p.m. at the latest on the day you have selected as the beginning of the lease period to take over the study you have reserved.
We demand
- observation of the stipulated deadline for the take-over of the individual study
- presentation of your reader’s pass
- settlement of all your liabilities in respect of the library, i.e. the return of any documents loaned off-site on which the stipulated loan period has expired; the payment of any fees for the late return of documents; payment of the lease fee, etc.
The end of the lease
Report to the loan counter by 4.30 p.m. at the latest on the day you have selected as the end of the lease period to hand over the study you have reserved. You may end the lease prematurely should you require.
We demand
- observation of the stipulated deadline for the hand-over of the individual study
- the hand-over of the undamaged and vacated study along with the undamaged key
- your presence during the inspection of the leased individual study
Should you fail to observe the stipulated deadline for the hand-over of the individual study and the return of the key, we will make the study available to other interested parties and charge you fees for the purchase and replacement of the lock.
How to reserve the lease of an individual study
- log on to your user account
- select Reservation System – Studies
- choose the number of the study, the first day of lease and how long you want to lease the study for
- confirm using the Reserve button
Before you confirm your lease reservation, acquaint yourself with the rules of lease and its binding deadlines and confirm that you will observe them. Give final confirmation using the Binding Reservation button. We will confirm the acceptance of your reservation automatically by sending you an e-mail stating the exact binding dates of the beginning and end of your lease.
The take-over and loan of an individual study
The staff of the library will lend you a key to an individual study and enter its loan on your user account; you will confirm the loan of the key with your signature on the loan ticket. In the reserved individual study, a member of library staff will then acquaint you with the state of the study and the rules relating to the use of the leased premises. You will then sign the take-over protocol together and the individual study will be handed over to you for use.
The hand-over and return of an individual study
After inspecting the leased individual study, the staff of the library will take over the key from you and remove its loan from your user account at the loan counter. If you require the issue of confirmation of the return of the key, request this during hand-over from a member of library staff. The lease of an individual study is terminated by the prompt and proper hand-over of the undamaged individual study along with the undamaged key and the removal of its loan from your user account by library staff.
Should a member of library staff discover during the hand-over of an individual study that its fittings or furnishings have been damaged, we will charge you all costs associated with its repair and will block your user account and not provide you with any of our services until the settlement of all liabilities.
The premature termination of the lease of an individual study
You can terminate your lease at any time during the lease at the loan counter. You must communicate your request to library staff by 5.30 p.m. at the latest in order for there to be enough time to hand over the study and return the key. The lease of an individual study is terminated by the prompt and proper hand-over of the undamaged individual study along with the undamaged key and the removal of its loan from your user account by library staff.
Should your lease be terminated prematurely at your request, we will consider the period of lease to have expired properly and will not return the paid fee or any part of the paid fee to you.
