Description:

Science for Peace and Security is a programme supporting co-operation between scientists in NATO member states and other co-operating countries. The results of this co-operation are published in the NATO Science for Peace and Security book edition which is divided into five topic series.

Series A: Chemistry and Biology (SpringerLink)

Series A is concerned with the resolution of security risks resulting from the use of atomic, biological and chemical weapons. It takes in such topics as means of detection, protection, the disposal of chemical substances and decontamination. In the fields of medicine and biology, it covers the topics infectious diseases and vaccination, health measures, pharmacology and toxicology, biotechnology, genetics and food safety. This series contains thirty books from 2007 to the present day.

Series B: Physics and Biophysics (SpringerLink)

Series B considers the resolution of security threats arising from the use of atomic and conventional substances and weapons. It focuses on detectors, sensors, the detection of explosions, biosensors and biotechnology, and nuclear safety and protection. This series contains 51 books from 2007 to the present day.

Series C: Environmental Security (SpringerLink)

Series C considers scientific and technological aspects of innovative projects associated with environmental safety, taking in natural and man-made catastrophes, climate change, anticipating and preventing catastrophes, and systems supporting decision-making and risk-assessment. This series contains 111 books from 2007 to the present day.
